A “few” effects of climate change on England
The effect in England are set to be similar to the rest of the U.K with more frequent and damaging flooding, an increase in temperatures in summer and winter, changing crop rotations and the type of crops used, an increased energy demand, frequent coastal flooding, heat related illness and stress which will reduce productivity, increased forest mortality due to increased temperatures and reduced rainfall in summer and climate migrants and refugees will become significantly more common as areas become uninhabitable due to rising sea levels and coastal erosion. All will put a strain on the country’s already struggling economy.
You can help by calling for government action as that is where the most change will occur the government will do nothing if they are not forced into action, petition, write letters to your representatives it’s what they are there for. But also by being more conscious of your actions and how they affect the climate will be a large win in this regard.
